I have box died my hair at home for MANY years. I always thought it was a rip off until a friend of mine who works at a salon told me it is much more damaging to your hair.... I still dye my hair at home occasionally.. but i trust her because she isnt trying to rip me off as she does my hair for free. and depending on your natural hair color.. say you want to lighten your hair.. it is best to have salon do it because alot of at home products can turn your hair orange or green and they have a chemical they mix in at salon to help prevent thatWhy are people paying more money at salons to dye their hair when they can just do it at home?
Professional dyes are better for your hair and a lot of people don't want to take the risk of messing up the color. I've been dying my hair myself for about 5 years and I've gotten very good at it but one of the ways I got there was messing up a lot.
If you have the patience and are willing to take the risk do it yourself! Try to go to a beauty supply store and get professional dye if you know how to use it instead of drug store stuff. Why are people paying more money at salons to dye their hair when they can just do it at home?
Well, a lot of people like getting highlights and lowlights, which are really difficult to achieve at home. Not to mention home haircolor isn't always consistent.
Personally, I color my hair at home when I just want it to be one shade. When I want something funky, I'll go to the shop and spend the extra cash. It's worth it, seeing as they know more about it than I do.
because most people may not know how long to keep the dye in and can mess the color up say you keep blonde dye in too long it my turn into a nasty green color.
They dont want to mess it up and be stuck with an ugly color they didnt want
mainly because they can do it with out screwing it up. and they can get all-over even color. like when my mom tried to dye her hair one time she got a stripe of no color on her head.
idk.. i guess because they're scared that they will mess up? lol
